Deborah Gonzales Caruso, Ed.D, with over 30 years of public sector experience, most recently as the Assistant General Manager for the City of Los Angeles Personnel Department, specializing in Human Resources Management, Employee/Labor Relations, and Workplace Violence Prevention. Deborah received her doctorate in Organizational Leadership at the University of La Verne, specializing in recruitment and retention in the public sector. Retired in February 2021, she continues to teach graduate-level leadership and human resource courses at the University of La Verne. She maintains HR certifications as a Senior HR Professional with IPMA-HR and SHRM. She is the proud owner of Caruso Consulting where she shares the wealth of her HR experience with others.
Nanci Hibschman, Managing Principal and the Not-for-Profit Practice Leader at SullivanCotter, with over 20 years in the field, exclusively advising on compensation and performance strategies for private and community foundations; service and charitable organizations; policy, advocacy and research institutes; higher education; associations; and other not-for-profit groups. She also helps boards with governance duties, such as self-assessments and board member selection. Nanci serves on the board of Girls on the Run Bay Area in San Francisco and on the Compensation Committee of The Night Ministry in Chicago. She also volunteers weekly at the Marin Humane Society.
Kardia Pinckney, Investment Advisor with Primeamerica, advising clients on Cal Savers and other retirement planning options for employers. CalSavers was created by legislation passed in 2016 requiring certain sized California employers that do not sponsor a retirement plan to participate in CalSavers – an automatic enrollment individual retirement account (IRA). Kardia is also Co-Founder and Board Chair of Pasadena’s Ideal Youth non-profit.
