Meeting of the Executive Roundtable

Meeting of the Executive Roundtable

The Pasadena Executive Roundtable is an informal consortium of local nonprofit executive directors who meet to discuss leadership and management issues of common concern and hear presentations by speakers of interest.

The focus of the round table is decided each year by a steering committee led by a chairperson. The group normally meets on the second Wednesday of every month from 8:30 to 10am with the exception of July and Aug. Electronic invitations are sent to our mailing list before each of our meetings and events. Please contact us if you would like to be put on our mailing list. Please contact Elizabeth Dever at edever@rmhcsc.org to be added to the email list.

Meeting Dates 2018

*Unless specified, all meetings are from 8:30am-10:00am

Wednesday, February 21, 2018

Host: Meg Symes

Speaker: Nancy Berlin, Policy Director, CalNonprofits

Topic: Advocacy and Systems Change

All nonprofits have a vital role to play in our democracy. For 501(c)(3) public charities, that role includes lobbying. Nonprofits have every right to advocate on behalf of policies they believe in, but when this advocacy deals with specific legislation, limits come into play that you need to know about. Nancy Berlin is the Policy Director of CalNonprofits; in this presentation, she will help nonprofits learn how to advocate to more effectively fulfill our missions without getting into trouble with the IRS or Attorney General. Nancy will also give us more information about CalNonprofits membership and answer questions about how tax reform may impact charitable giving this year.
