Economic Impact of California Nonprofits

CalNonprofits Executive Director Jan Masaoka presented on CalNonprofits’ new study on the economic impact of California’s Nonprofit Sector. In 2014, CalNonprofits published the Causes Count report, the first of its kind to examine the nonprofit sector’s scope, activities and economic impact in the state of California. While some regional research about nonprofits has been conducted, this new Causes Count looks closely at the statewide nonprofit workforce, disparities among California regions, foundation giving in California, and other key economic metrics. Just as a farmer needs to know the state of the farming industry, nonprofit leaders can use this information not only in their own organizations, but in the formation of policy agendas. Plus it will be fun!
